MIDGET REP, 2010-2011 (Shallow Lake Minor Hockey)

The Midget Rep Lakers won a thrilling game last night against the visiting Bruce Peninsula Wild, to clinch the "Lockridge Championship'" in the WOAA group playdowns. The 3-2 overtime win gave the Lakers their third straight victory against the Wild, and locked in the group championship.

The Lakers - Midget Rep - completed a home and home sweep of the Bruce Peninsula Wild last night, with a convincing 4-1 victory. These 4 points have vaulted the Lakers back in the running towards advancement from the WOAA Twolan Championship qualifying round robin. The Lakers had found themselves in a bit of a hole, after dropping their first two games to the Ripley Wolves, in what was incredible drama ending both of these games by one goal!!! Following is a summary of the four games played so far, with two to go against the Saugeen AE squad.

The Midget Rep Lakers came thru with a big push in the second half of their WOAA League Playoffs, going 2-1-1 in the final four games of the initial round robin. As a result, the league has advanced the Lakers to the Twolan Championship round robin with Ripley, Bruce Peninsula, and Saugeen Shores AE. Again this round robin will be a home and home with each team, six game total. Following is a summary of the four games that made up the second half of the last series.

The Lakers have hit the half way mark in round robin play during the WOAA League playoffs. They will carry a record of 1-3-0 into the second half. The round robin group consists of Shallow Lake, Walkerton, TCDMHA, Durham and Arran-Elderslie. This group will play a home and home, eight games all together. The Lakers where a late entry to this group, and will have to play their 8 games in 15 days, including a stretch of 5 games in 6 days!!!

The Lakers have been eliminated from the OMHA side after another heartbreaking loss at home last Thursday January 27th. The Bruce Peninsula Wild clinched the series in four games, after a narrow 3-2 win in Shallow Lake. The Wild jumped to a 2-0 lead after two periods, with goals from Graeme George and Ryan Farrow.
