Lakers Eliminated After Another Close Game at Home
The Lakers have been eliminated from the OMHA side after another heartbreaking loss at home last Thursday January 27th. The Bruce Peninsula Wild clinched the series in four games, after a narrow 3-2 win in Shallow Lake. The Wild jumped to a 2-0 lead after two periods, with goals from Graeme George and Ryan Farrow.

However, after the flood, the Lakers came on the ice determined to get back in this game, and tie the series. They fought back with goals from Jordan Proctor and Kory Brady to knot the game at two. Unfortunately, with only 1 minute and 9 seconds left in the game, Graeme George would beat netminder David Whyte to provide the Wild with the game winner. That would also clinch the series 3 games to 1.
The series started off tough for the Lakers with a 6-1 defeat in Lions Head on the 19th. Team yellow rebounded with an awesome effort at Shallow Lake on the 20th, only to come up 1 goal short, as the Wild won 4-3 in overtime.
The trip back to Lions Head on the 26th was proof that the Lakers had fight. Our Lakers came back with convincing a 5-1 victory that night.
If only the gang could have squeezed thru on one of those two home game thrillers, I would have loved to see a game 5!!! Great effort Lakers, there never was any quit in the entire group!!!
Note: Goaltender David Whyte had a very solid four games for the Lakers
