League Play Finished This Week
The Lakers traveled to Port Elgin to face off against the mighty Saugeen Storm. The Storm would hand the Lakers a 7-1 defeat to finish the regular season.
After a scoreless first period, where netminder David Whyte was great for the Lakers, all heck broke out in the second when the Storm would rally for 5 goals, to the Lakers 1. The only bright spot for the Lakers came 8:05 into the the second period, when Dan McIvor would jam home the puck, while a couple players where celebrating what appeared to be goal on a shot from Ernie MacDonnell. Somewhat bizarre, but the original goal had been waved off. This did draw the affair to a 3-1 score at this point.
However, that would be it for the Lakers, and the Storm would cruise to a 7-1 victory.
