Ice Dogs Frustrate the Lakers Offence
The Lakers traveled to Chesley last night for a second road game in two nights. Although the Lakers brought another big effort, they where stymied by the Ice Dogs. There is no question the shots on goal favoured the visiting Lakers squad.

The Lakers pressured the Ice Dogs right from the drop of the puck, and opened the scoring 2 minutes and 51 seconds in. The goal came from a threesome of the past, when Dakaota Simkins, and Liam Mcivor set up Ernie MacDonnell for a one-timer at mid-slot.
However, this was a game of Chesley taking full advantage of the chances they got. Wyatt Borton would tie the game at one, with 3:46 left in the first. Although the Lakers continued to press, Colin McCarthy would bust loose and beat David Whyte with 1:39 left in the second. This would send the Lakers to their room for the flood, down 2-1.
The coach had his troops motivated to start the third, as the Lakers attack was absolutely relentless!! However, the Ice Dogs goaltender was unbeatable, and was able to stop everything.
The Lakers attempt to tie this game unfortunately came to a halt, when a penalty was called against them very late in the game at the 3:56 mark. McCarthy would convert a power play goal 15 seconds later to take a 3-1 lead. The very deflated visitors would surrender an empty net goal to Kurtis Buoy with 13 seconds left.
Lakers, you can honestly say, "It just wasn't your night!!!". Great effort just the same!!!!
