Hanover Still Undefeated After Tight Game With Lakers
The Lakers squad are getting tired of being told, "Great game, it could have easily went your way!". Yet another really close game, lets the visiting Hanover Falcons squeak through with a 3-0 win, and remain undefeated in league play so far this year.

In one of the fastest played games of the season, scoring was something that did not come easy for either team. Without question, the goaltenders where great at both ends, Mitch Campbell with a shut out for the Falcons, and the Lakers David Whyte was only beaten twice.
Kyle Goetz opened the scoring for the Falcons at the 3:56 mark of the first period, when the puck somehow made it right through a well guarded crease, right on to his stick. Goetz made no mistake, and lasered it top shelf.
That would be the only goal until well into the third, with just over 13 minutes left in the game, when Vince Magwood broke in and put Hanover up by two goals. I don't like to pick on the officials, but there isn't many in the arena that thought the play that created the second goal was brought in to the Lakers zone on-side!! Anyway, it just goes to show how extremely tight this entire hockey game was!!!!
The Lakers would than practice pulling their goalie for the extra man, but Hanover's Ryne Weppler would airmail the puck from deep in his own end with 50.7 seconds left. That empty net goal would seal the deal 3-0.
Hold your heads high Lakers, you will get some breaks if you keep pushing that hard!!!!
