Milverton Drove Over Lakers
The Milverton Drives beat up on the Lakers last night 4-1. It was most definitely not a real good game for the Shallow Lake squad.
The Lakers where just simply flat, and Milverton took full advantage of that!! They sent in a strong forecheck, and that hemmed our guys in for most of the first two periods.
After a scoreless opening period, Milverton's Travis Bowman would open the scoring 2:58 into the second.
The Lakers did respond to tie the game 1 minute and 21 seconds later, when Jordan Proctor went hard to the net and grabbed a rebound for a power play goal. Assists went to Derek Johnstone and Cole Ouwendyk.
Milverton would then take the lead at the 8:22 mark with a goal from Scott Ropp, and never look back. Bowman would get his second goal just 12 seconds later, on route to a four point night for Bowman.
With a 3-1 lead for Milverton going into the third, I guess you could say the wheels fell off. A penalty filled third period, allowed Milverton to notch one more goal on the power play at 5:09 from James Kipfer.
The game had 6:33 left, when it hit the curfew. Not one to remember.....
