ATOM REP, 2013-2014 (Shallow Lake Minor Hockey)

The Garb and Gear Shallow Lake Atom Rep team played host to Kincardine on Saturday in Shallow Lake

Garb and Gear Shallow Lake Lakers win the first game with a score of 5-1 in their home rink. Goals were scored by, Kirk with a pair, Quin, Gavin and Kalum added singles.  Assists were Matthew, Kalum, Cole, Jessica and Gavin.  Jesse played net.

​For the first round of play offs, the Lakers were up against TCDMHA, a 4 point series was decided on and there was one home and away game for the Lakers.  The first game took place in Shallow Lake on Thursday, January 16th.  The Lakers squeaked out a win against a good defensive effort by TCDMHA. The score of the game was 3-2 with Jesse in net.  Assists for this game were Matthew, Gavin (2) and Jessica.  Goal scorers were Cole, Aidan and Kirk.

It was the game to decide the 1st place team in the regular season and Minto won the position. Minto was looking for some redemption after the last exhibition game where we beat them 10-3.  Minto came out strong and scored 9 seconds into the game to really get their bench moving and took control of the game from then on.  The final score was 9-3 Minto.  Scoring by Ben S, Cole and Kurt.  Assists by Kalum, Ben S and Gavin. The Lakers start their first round of play-offs this Thursday against TCDMHA in Shallow Lake at 6pm.  Come out and cheer them on.

Hard working effort leads the Lakers to a 5-2 victory over Owen Sound on Friday night. Jesse played a strong game in net. Gavin, Aidan and 2K (Kirk) had a strong performance, chipping in all 5 goals.  With the Lakers up 4-1 Owen Sound tried to take liberties on us and started to take penalities, like the time when Ben fell down on the ice and a mosquito jumped on his back. LOL! Way to go Lakers!
