Lakers win their first round, 2 straight!
For the first round of play offs, the Lakers were up against TCDMHA, a 4 point series was decided on and there was one home and away game for the Lakers. The first game took place in Shallow Lake on Thursday, January 16th. The Lakers squeaked out a win against a good defensive effort by TCDMHA. The score of the game was 3-2 with Jesse in net. Assists for this game were Matthew, Gavin (2) and Jessica. Goal scorers were Cole, Aidan and Kirk.
The second game took place in Keady on Saturday, January 18th. With another score of 3-2 the Lakers take the series. Lakers came out strong in the first period and dominated the whole period. Giving up zero shots for Ben in net. Lakers win the period 2-0. Momentum shifted early in the second period when the Lakers gave up a long breakaway which resulted in a goal. TCDMHA won the second period by scoring 2 goals. The Lakers had to dig deep in the third and kill of a couple of penalties in order to win the game 3-2. Assists for this game were: Kirk (2), Ben, Kurt and Cole. Goals scored by Cole, Aidan and Gavin.
