Lakers regular season winding down - 3 game report
Heading down the stretch the Lakers still competing tough as regular season is nearing the end.

Its been a constant all season long, a Lakers squad that has found themselves in some excellent, tight checking hockey games.
This 3 game report paints a similar picture.
Last Thursday night the Lakers entertained the Icedogs from Arran-Elderslie, and surrendered a 2-1 lead heading into the 3rd period, with some excellent goaltending displayed from both clubs.  It was 3-2 for the opposition late in the 3rd period when the Icedogs scored an empty netter to walk away with a 4-2 win.  The Lakers really threw the puck around well on this night, but just missed on several opportunities around the oppositions cage.

On Saturday it was dejavu all over again, as once again the Lakers trailed 2-1 heading into the final frame in a fast paced match against Mt Forest.  Both teams demonstrated good team speed with some real spirited play, and once again Cameron Lessard put on a clinic between the pipes for Shallow Lake.  Unfortunately, despite a great effort from the boys they came up just short with a 4-1 loss, but did alot of the little things correct, which sometimes carry over if good habits are maintained.

The next day the Lakers headed down the road to face the Hanover Falcons in Clifford.  At last, the team started to be rewarded around the net, having been snakebit the last couple of games despite battling hard each and every shift.  In bit of a chippy contest Shallow Lake took a 4-1 lead into the 3rd period, and would hold on for a 4-2 victory, as once again they witnessed their goalie playing a fantastic game.

No need for stats for this week in review, as each players compete level was at its highest, all any coaching staff could ever ask for.    Excellent work fellas !!!
