Lakers down in series to Arran-Elderslie
Despite some dominating play in game 3 the Lakers find themselves down, but not out !

Its been quite a series so far between the Lakers and Ice Dogs in round # 2 of OMHA playdown action.  Heading into Chesley this past Sunday night with a 1 game lead in the series, the Lakers came out a little suggish before picking up the pace near the halfway mark of the game.  It's been a tough go for this Shallow Lake squad at times, as the bounces just haven't been going their way, with some stellar goaltending at times from the opposition.  Game # 2 was another tight match, and as the Lakers trailed 3-2 in the 2nd period they found themselves being awarded with a penalty shot.  However, they were denied, and Arran-Elderslie would score one more time in the 3rd to seal the deal with a 4-2 victory.

With the series tied at a game apiece it was apparent the Lakers were ready to strike on home ice.  However, once again, the hockey gods were not on their side.  Dominating play for the most part of the game, the Lakers were finding themselves being denied time and time again, but kept up the strong play to send the game into overtime.  At times in the overtime session the Lakers easily had their way, pouring chance after chance at the oppositons net, hemming the Ice Dogs in for minutes at a time.
However, the Ice Dogs, who only registered only a dozen shots all game, including 2 in overtime, would once again come down the ice and capitilize on their opportunity with a shot from the high slot, which just trickled over the goal line to give them a 4-3 victory, and a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.  Disheartening perhaps, but the way the Lakers competed.....absolutely not !!
Just an amazing effort from this group !!!

Its been a great series so far, lets just hope the "hockey gods" look over the Lakers in game # 4, which is set for Wednesday night in Tara at 7pm.

GO GETEM' BOYS !!!!!!
