Lakers advance in OMHA playdowns
Six different goal scorers help the Lakers move on to round # 2.
The State Farm Insurance Peewee Rep team, proudly sponsored by Bruce Boivin, advanced to the second round of the OMHA playdowns by eliminating the Bruce Peninsula Predators in 3 straight games.
After defeating Bruce Pen in game 2 Monday night in Shallow Lake by a score of 5-2, the Lakers game plan was altered from individual play to alot more "team" play for game 3, as the Lakers threw the puck around for all 3 periods, resulting in several opportunities, cashing in for a 6-2 victory.
Six different lakers hit the gamesheet in the goal scoring department, but those efforts were a result of some great passing plays, a team working together as it should.
Ethan Boivin, Kaleb Sutherland, Terran Hooey, Cole Waddell, Marshall Hickson and Matthew Weiler bulged the twine for the Lakers. Colin Kitto, Jared Christie, Dylan Mole, Sutherland & Weiler all chipped in with assists.
Kudos to the Preds for a great hard fought series !!!
The Lakers now advance to face Arran-Elderslie in the 2nd round, who also eliminated Lucknow in 3 straight games.
