"Tis the season" Lakers vs Preds
It wasn't pretty, but it was a gritty and gutsy effort in Lions Head Monday evening.
With some of the regulars out of the lineup the Bruce Boivin State Farm Insurance Peewee Rep squad found themselves in a gritty contest against a much improved team from Bruce Peninsula.
"Tis the season" was the way in the first period for the Lakers, giftwrapping giveaway after giveaway for the Predators, including an early penalty proving costly as Bruce Pen jumped ahead early with a 1-0 lead. The Lakers settled in after the first frame, but felt the presence of a very physical opposition.
With the game tied at 2-2 heading into the 3rd period the boys kept their cool and stayed discipline, and along the way potted a single marker to take the win.
In the end "it wasn't pretty" but is "sure was gritty".
Cole Waddell, Dylan Mole and Kaleb Sutherland led the attack for Shallow Lake.
