Arran Elderslie Tournament Champions
The Novice Rep team travelled to Paisley for a one day tournament on Saturday January 14th.
Three games were played in total. Game 1 was played against TCDMHA. The Lakers came out with a win of 5-1. Cole Deiter earned the hattrick while Gavin Gibbons and Kirk Gibson each earned a single. Our second game was played against the Arran Elderslie Icedogs. The Lakers again were able to hold on to get another win of 5-1. Goal scorers were Ben Shouldice with a pair, and Kalum McKinnon, Aidan Christie and Kirk Gibson each with a single. The Championship game wa played against Minto. This was some game to watch. It was a back and forth scoring game with equally matched teams. In the end, the Lakers were able to earn the trophy in an overtime win of 5-4. Gavin Gibbons scored 3 times during this game including earning the overtime goal. Ben Shouldice, Jessica Davidson and Aidan Christie each scored a single. Jesse Cunningham played an outstanding goaltending job and earned the hard hat along with Matthew Boulter during the tounament. Well done kids. You played extremely hard and deserve this championship trophy.
