Lakers on the ropes after tough OT loss
Lakers are now down 2 games to none after suffering a tough overtime loss in game 2 of the Bantam Rep OMHA DD playdowns.
After a beating and bruising in game 1 (5-2 loss) the Lakers made the journey down to Lucknow to face the Sepoys for game 2 of the Bantam Rep OMHA DD quarterfinals.
With only 9 skaters in the lineup the Lakers put to rest the physicality of game 1 and came out strong, grabbing a quick 2-0 lead by goals from Zac Taylor and Colin Kitto. With the game knotted at 2 apiece heading into the 3rd, and the Lakers bench now shortended to 8 players, the Sepoys would grab a 3-2 lead late in the game, before Alex Ryan replied for the Lakers with just over 2 minutes remaining, eventually sending the game into overtime.
However, it was Lucknow who would answer the bell early in the overtime session and skate away with a 4-3 victory.
Gutsy effort from a somewhat depleted Lakers team. Several wounds to heal before the Lakers will face their first elimination game of this years playoff run back in Shallow Lake this coming Sat at 2:45pm.
Anyone that has watched this team over the season knows that "no quit" is not an option amongst this group.
Go getem' Lakers !!!
