Lakers ousted from OMHA playdowns
Lucknows style of play pays dividend in Lakers being eliminated
Its been said in the past that the easiest way to make someone afraid is by imtimidation, and this couldn't be more true as the Bantam Reps were eliminated in game 3 by the Lucknow Sepoys. Good, bad or indifferent, it was the play of certain Lucknow players that took control of this quarterfinal OMHA DD series.
Losing 3-1 in game 3, the Lakers walked away with their heads held high, and reflected on the achievement, not the disappointment of being eliminated.
A team that sports only 3 second year skaters and goaltender, all of whom had never won a OMHA playoff game, is a great achievement in itself.
For the most part during this series, the Lakers were shorthanded, due to illness, players away etc, but not for one moment did they quit, which speaks volumes of the character of this group.
A group of young men that doesn't play the imtimidation or bully card, just the opposite, a group that just goes out and plays hockey the way it should be.
Congrats boys on a great playoff run !!!
The Lakers are now competing in the WOAA playoffs to round out the season.
