Lakers Overthrow The Defenders
The Lakers were host to the visiting Drayton Defenders last night in a battle that would keep these two teams close atop the WOAA standings. The Defenders came into the game undefeated in league action with their only tie coming earlier in the season from the Lakers. However, the Lakers would dig deep and pull out a 4-2 victory.
It was a penalty filled affair, that would see the game curfewed early in the 3rd period, at the 11:37 mark to be exact. Fact is, every referee is different on what the players can and can't get away with. The minor penalties did end up equal for each team, although the misconducts did not, and the hockey that we did get to see was fantastic!!!
Shallow Lake's scoring came with two goals from Luke Heathers, and singles from Dakota Simkins and Ryan Bisson.
Drayton's reply were singles from Aaron Keunen and Cody Ferguson.
