Last week in an online meeting, the WOAA executive committee presented its associations with the WOAA Shared Boundary Pilot proposal. This proposal involves the potential amalgamation of current associations within the WOAA to form six representative 'A' category 'zones', with teams in the major and minor age divisions from U10 to U18, effective for the 2025-2026 season.
This past weekend, the WOAA presented the proposal to the OMHA Board and it was passed. The WOAA now needs approval from its members/associations, by way of a vote. Each association gets one vote.
Shallow Lake Minor Hockey's 'vote' will be tallied through the results of a one-question survey (link below) completed by you, our registrants. The survey is anonymous and will be open until February 29. Results will be shared with the association and forwarded to the WOAA before their deadline of March 4.
Before completing the survey, I strongly urge you to read the attached document which will provide you with further information. I know this proposal may cause concern, and if you have any feedback, please feel free to email me at this address. At this time, I have only been provided with the information that I am sharing with you, I know nothing of the proposal other then what is included in the attached document, but I can definitely forward your questions/concerns to the WOAA.
