As teams continue to make the run in Playdowns and wind
down the season, its time for a brief update, some information and dates that may
help your future planning
Registration will start online this year. Online registration will be done through the www.lakershockey.ca site so have an eye as we will need to endure some short term pain for long term gain. Registration will open by May, but website updates will be kept current.
Respect in Hockey “Parent Program” A hockey Canada initiative to have all parents, Team Officials, Coaches, and volunteers in compliance with the new Respect in Hockey Program is mandatory. One parent of all minor hockey players must have this course completed by August 31st, 2014. If it’s not complete your child cannot play. Check out the website for links and process for completion. (Note the current Respect in Sport that you may have does not stop the need for this program)
An Awards Form is attached. There will be a ballot box in the arena in the main lobby area. Please fill this form out and tell us who is doing an exceptional job this year, and deserves a little recognition. These people have a tough job and it remains a thankless job. Show your appreciation by voting.
A Coach Evaluation Form is also included. Positive, negative and neutral feedback is always appreciated and makes us better, trust us we do get the honest ones and they are great to get. Turn one in.
Also note coaching applications are now available online. If you are interested in coaching Hockey for the next season the first deadline this year is June 30th. Police checks are MANDATORY for all coaches, and without one on file the application will not be accepted.
The AGM is soon. Upcoming positions that are open for this hockey year are also available online. Come out to the AGM and throw your name in the hat to get involved.
