Midget Reps Kick Off Season
The RAM Promotional Midget Rep team has started the 2017/18 campaign with a 4-0 record.

With 19 man games lost in the first 4 regular season games of the season due to injuries/suspensions/illness, the RAM Promotional Lakers have perservered to open up the season with 4 straight wins.

The Lakers opened up regular season play at home on October 12th vs Listowel, coming out on top with a 6-1 score.  Dylan Mole and Alex Parisien each had a pair of goals for SL, with Terran Hooey and Wade Barker adding single markers.  Mark Giefert chipped in with a pair of assist.

Game 2 of the young season was also a home game, but this time the scene was set for the small confines of the Wiarton arena to face off against Mount Forest.  Both teams took the ice with depleted lineups, Shallow Lake hosting only 11 skaters while the opposition had even fewer with 9.  However, it was a spirted affair and the Lakers would once again outchance and outshoot their opponent en route to a 4-0 win.  Home town boys Sam Myles and Wade Barker each had a nice tally leading the way, while Jacob Lumley got his first of the season and Alex Parisien also contributed with his 3rd of the year.

Next stop was a Sunday afternoon tilt in Markdale, as the Lakers took the ice against the TCDMHA Rebels.  With 6 regulars out of the lineup, the Lakers had their hands full, as the the Rebels came out with lots of energy in the their home opener.  It wasn't the tidiest of games from both sides at times, but once both teams settled in it was the Lakers that would come out on top with a 3-1 margin.

Once again, the oppositions goaltender was kept busy on this day, making key save after key save, frustrating the Laker shooters.  It was Terran Hooey, Tre Govier, and Mark Giefert that would eventually solve the Rebels keeper to lead the way.

Game 4 was back at home in Shallow Lake on October 19th vs the Drayton Defenders, and for the second time this season the Lakers would dress 13 skaters.  Clayton Glover and Tre Govier both moved up from D to form a 3 line attack, something that has been missing so far in this young season.  On this night the Lakers would throw nearly 35 shots at the Draytons keeper, but once again the shooters were turned away for the most part, as the boys headed into the 3rd period with a narrow 1-0 lead.  However, 3 unanswered goals in the final frame was the difference as the Lakers skated away with a 4-0 victory.  Jacob Lumley would find the back of the net twice for SL.  Wade Barker and Luke Grimoldby each had a single tally.  Josh Hamill chipped in with a pair of assist.

Will DeBoer and Landon Kinch have held the fort steady between the iron for the Lakers in the first 4 games of the season.  Heres hoping the Lakers can get back to full strength in the lineup department.  Key contributors Zach Taylor and Alex Ryan are both still sidelined with shoulder and collar bone injuries respectively, and hope to be back in the near future.

Upcoming schedule has the Lakers facing Lucknow and Hanover in the next 2 games before heading off to Elmvale for the teams first tourney of the season.

Good luck boys!
