Laker Season Ends
Well, it’s not the ending we had hoped for, but we can at least say we made it through this strange season safely and with very few issues.

Things looked promising for a great finish and our season was going to be extended to the end of April, but it just wasn't meant to be. I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and support as we worked our way thru the many changes we had thrown our way.

Our slogan for the season “Stronger Together” was evident as everyone including players, coaches, managers, parents, and executive pulled together to keep things running and keep our kids safe and on the ice.  Despite the change from normal hockey, I think our players will benefit immensely from the many skills sessions they received this season. The 3 on 3 games although not perfect gave every player an opportunity to handle the puck and forced them to skate a lot more and harder than usual.  All these skills are sure to benefit them in years to come.

We do not know what next season will bring but with any luck we can get back to hockey the way we know it with more fans in the stands, high fives on the ice and that smell of fresh arena popcorn when you come thru the door. We will be posting a date for our awards day which will once again be a drive thru format. We will also be posting a date for our annual AGM and nominations for the SLMH Executive for next season.  It takes a group of hard-working people to make an organization successful year after year and I urge you to consider becoming part of the Laker Executive Team.

In closing I want to thank this year’s executive for their dedication and contribution to SLMH and the support you have given me this past season. I look forward to next season with great anticipation as we continue to build on this
season and we strive to make SLMH an association to be proud of.
