Novice LL #1 Champs
The Shallow Lake Harold Sutherland Construction Novice LL #1 had an exciting Easter Weekend by defeating Bruce Pennisula Northstars 2 for the Novice North LL Builders Championship.
At home, the Lakers took Game 1 on Saturday led by Ben Gladwell's hat trick. Single markers were scored by Myles Cardinal and Laila Walser with her first of the year. Carter Legge, Hayden Lines and Jessie Murray added assists. Brayden Martin and Kierra McMann had strong games.
On Sunday in Game 2, the Lakers hung on to a 1 goal lead until Myles Cardinal sealed the victory with an empty net goal. Again, Ben Gladwell scored the opening goal that held up for the winner. Carter Legge and Gladwell added assists. Owen Craven, Finn Marritt and Katie Murray had strong games.
Missing Captain Gabe Yeoman and Gabe Wood the Laker's celebrated to the wee hours of the afternoon. Excellent work and great season Lakers!
