BROOKLYNS FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

Hi, my name is Brooklyn, and I am 9 years old.  I am just like most girls...I enjoy doing crafts with my sister, playing with my American Doll and hanging out with my family. I have great memories of travelling to the cottage with my grandparents, tobogganing in the winter and ice cream adventures in the summer. However, I am dealing with something that most girls my age will hopefully never deal with. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma. It is an aggressive form of cancer that is in the muscle of my left forearm. I was officially diagnosed on October 25th. The Doctor told us that the type of Rhabdo that I have is tricky to treat.

My treatment will consist of 40 weeks of chemo. During the 40 weeks, every 21 days I have been given a dose of 3 drugs together called VAC. The weeks in between I am given a different chemo called Vincristine. It is done as an out patient procedure and does not have as many side effects. Sometimes it makes me feel sick to my stomach, and it makes me really tired. Mom and Dad say I will stay have to go for surgery down at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto in January. My surgery is going to be fairly extensive, so I am a little scared. In order to help my mom and dad with the costs that go along with me being sick, I am hoping you would be willing to help them out with a donation of any type. I really look forward to being able to play on the beach this summer, hanging out with my cousins and watching more sunsets with my grandparents.

Thank you very much for listening to my story, and for your help! :)
