Sportmanship is Paramount
Our Sauble Golf and Country Club Peewee LL team took to the ice in Tara on Thursday, February 18, 2016, for a well-anticipated mid-week match-up with the Arran-Elderslie team.  With our hearts leaping out of our chests, we watched our team narrowly escape with a 1-0 victory.

The summary of this game is pretty short - period 1 - Jake Ross scored, assisted by Quinlin Wilder.
But it wasn't the scoring that was the biggest part of this game.  Thank you to our manager, Melissa and our coach Jeff, for filling some big shoes and assisting with yet another team event.  We appreciate all your efforts to keep this team in check.  A hard-fought game ensued for all 3 periods (both teams coming out with force after the 2nd period ice clean)!  But at the end of the day, if you take a minute to hear some of the comments, "hey that team is really good", "thanks for a great game", that is what everyone wants to hear.  It is so easy in playoff hockey to get off the grid and forget why we play this great game.  Thank you to those kids who appreciate the good and the bad of the game, who look to the challenge of a much anticipated game with enthusiasm and optimism.  I will not forget to mention our goalie, Ben Redmond, who seems to (I am not sure how), show more skill than the previous game. And to Arran-Elderslie's goalie, Tyson Heard, who is in the same league as well.  And when kids from opposing teams come face to face at the end of a game and congratulate each other on a good game, well you know as coaches, managers and parents - you are doing something right!
