The Good Stuff
In tournament hockey play, we play our hearts out, score goals, assist our scorers, defend our goalie and compete to be crowned champions for a day. Congrats to our Shallow Lake Peewee LL B Champions crowned in Teeswater on January 30, 2016! Definitely some good stuff :)
The Lakers played their awesome, unique game-winning style of hockey, but came up short (4-3 loss) against a very determined West Grey team in our first appearance at the tournament. The good stuff in that game? Our awesome goaltending from Ben Redmond and our players' long hard fight.
Scorers for our team were Zach Deakins, Sam Standoloft and Quinlin Wilder. Assists went to Bennett Lines and Wyatt Hickson. For West Grey, scoring were Cody Swindlehurst (2 - including game o/t winner), Oliver Warner and Cameron Scott. Assists were from Emily Medeiros and Jacob McGarry.
Was our team disappointed? Yes. Were they unhappy? No. That's the good stuff. Player of the game for Shallow Lake - Ben Redmond. No words.
Game #2 vs Minto: Shallow Lake found their mojo and the net with an impressive 13-0 team-involved win! Team effort and not enough space to identify everyone's contribution. That's the good stuff :) Player of the game for Shallow Lake - Jake Ross.
Game #3 vs Lucknow - Congrats to all team members on a 8-2 win to capture the B Championship! Scorers for Shallow Lake were Zach Deakins, Wyatt Hickson (3), Jake Ross (2), Bennett Lines and Jonathan Coffey. Assists went to Quintin Cardinal (2), Jonathan Coffey (2) and Sam Standoloft. Scorers for Lucknow were Coye Edgar and Peter Jakobsen. Assist went to Lane Edgar. Quinlin Wilder was player of the game for Shallow Lake in the final game without a single point! If that isn't good stuff, I don't know what is :)
