TYKE FUN DAY!
The Shallow Lake Tyke #1 team challenged the Wiarton Predators to a rematch early at the 2014 Tyke Funday. While the scoreboard did indicate that wiarton recorded the win...in our hearts and minds the Lakers were the victors with amazing effort offensively, defensively and most importantly, between the pipes. Brian wowed the crowd with incredible save after save. Only 4 shots snuck by him. The teaming of Owen Barfoot and Myles Cardinal resulted in our 2 goals for this game.
Game #2 had us up against TCDMHA Rebels and we recorded a definitive win, 11-1. Goals by Graydon (2) Owen (4) Tanner (2) Myles (2), Assists by Tanner, Vaughan, Brian, Owen, Myles, Graydon, Alisa, Ty and Jesse. Incredibly, ALL of our teammates achieved either a goal or assist (or both) for this game as even goalie Jonah was mentioned on the gamesheet for an assist!
Honorable mentions for this day were all of the parents. This supportive fan base have been wonderful all season bringing our little stars together to learn and enjoy the game of hockey. The food donations, the time donation and the support given for the tyke fun day was not only noticed but so greatly appreciated.
MVP to Shine and Kevin McKnight. Our Tyke Cooridinator and her sidekick put countless hours into this day, and quite honestly the whole season. Thank you 2 for everything.
Now enjoy summer (if it ever comes) and we will hopefully all meet again next season!
