Midgets Finish Just Short of OMHA Semi's!!!
The Lakers ground out a very close series with the Lucknow Sepoys, but just came up short, 6 points to 4 points. Out of six games played, two went in the books with overtime required, and all games were a one goal differential except for the final game.

The energy and intensity was off the charts for this entire series. That was what a WOAA Championship series is all about. With a lot on the line, we saw some outstanding hockey. The crowds were huge at both centres, and that always amps up the intensity!!

The sixth game was required, as game five was disallowed by the WOAA, due to a protest submitted by Shallow Lake. The game was deemed unofficial, as a result of the use of a game official that was not eligible to officiate a deciding game.

The original game five, all though unofficial, ended up 2-1. I guess you could say 2-1 for both teams, as a goal by the Lakers with a few seconds left was called back, and Lucknow scored in overtime to make it 2-1 again.
Putting any controversy aside, this was an absolutely fantastic hockey series, and Lucknow came to play last Friday, when they took the series with a 5-1 victory.

Great job Lakers, and one heck of an OMHA run this year!!!! Laker Nation is very proud!!!!!
