Playoffs!
A new season has begun.

Fri. Mar. 23rd - RUNNER-UP CHAMPIONS!
Shallow Lake - The Clark Pools & Spas Lakers novice #1 team finished with a 2-1 win to claim the Runner-up Championship series.  The Lakers won the final series against Saugeen Shores #3 2 games to 0.  The last game was a low scoring close game.  The Lakers came across a hot goalie who made some great saves.  James Palmer scored assisted by Meghan Prentice and Kaleb Slater.  Spencer Davidson scored the game winner and celebrated with one of the best goal celebrations I've ever seen as he shared his excitement with the entire arena!  Assisting on Spencer's goal were Jamie Norman and Jake Ross.  Well a great season has come to an end and the coaching staff is very proud of the players who have accomplished a lot this year.  We can say we won our last game.

Thurs. Mar. 8th - FINAL SERIES
Southampton - The Lakers Novice LL#1 made the trip down highway 21 for the last time this year for a tilt against the Saugeen Shores Storm #3 team.  This is the final series of the year and the players are doing exactly what the coaches want them to do and that is to play their best hockey and they did that tonight.  Some great checking, solid defensive play helped Ben earn another shutout.  Not a lot of shots went Ben's way but when there were a couple of breakdowns allowing the other team some chances Ben was there to close the door.  Some nice passing again which starts the play and ended in goals.  The scoring was shared by four players Kaiden Henrich, Kaleb Slater, Zach Palmer and Jake Ross.  Assists by Meghan Prentice, Zach Palmer and Jake Ross.  Penalties:  Jamie Norman, Kaleb Slater.  Final score 4-0.

Sat. Mar. 3rd - STRONG FINISH TO ROUND ROBIN
Shallow Lake - The Shallow Lake Clark Pools & Spas Lakers finished their round robin play the same way they started it and that was with a total team effort.  We have been talking about a team game and how Together Everyone Accomplishes More!  This game had great positional play, some nice passing and an executed forecheck that had the play held in our opponents end for most of the game.  The coaches were thrilled with the amount of time we spent in the other teams end, our goalie not so much.  Final score Shallow Lake 7 vs. Saugeen Shores 2.  Jake Ross lead the scoring charge with 5 goals and Kaleb Slater potted 2.  One final series to go, let's keep up the great work and play our best hockey of the year.

Sat. Feb. 25th - LAKERS NOVICE PLAYOFF GAME

Shallow Lake - Shallow Lake Clark Pools & Spas Lakers Novice LL #1 edged the Saugeen Shores Storm 2-1 on Saturday in WOAA local league playoff action.  Lakers goals by Zack Deakins and Jake Ross.  Nolan Schoneck replied for the Storm.  Assist by Jake Ross.
In net was Joseph "Joey Bower" Weiler who made some key saves.

Fri. Feb. 24th - BATTLE OF SHALLOW LAKE

The two Lakers teams battled it out again in another close game in Lakerville.  Novice LL #1 fell short again to the #2 team in a one goal game.  These two teams have had great games against one another this year and tonight was no different.  Clark Pools & Spas #1 team goals were scored by James Palmer, Zack Deakins and Jake Ross.  For the Harold Sutherland Construction #2 team Ouintin Cardinal scored twice while singles went to Darryl Blair and Marcus Legnaro.  Assists by Spencer Davidson (2), Jake Ross, Zack Deakins, Jamie Norman, Tyler McKee.
In net was Kaleb Slater who played a great game.

Sun. Feb. 19th - First Playoff Game

Today we had our first playoff game.  We faced off against the 1st place team being Saugeen Shores #2.  This was a great game to be a part of.  Both teams played extremely well and it was a real treat for the players to play in, the parents to watch and also for the coaches.  SS#2 has not lost a game all year and have a couple of strong snipers.  Our team played exceptional postional play along with strong checking and great pressure.  Ben had a strong game again in net for his team and shut the door when he had to.  Although we came up short in a 3-2 loss it really could have went either way.  With our goalie out we just couldn't pull the trigger to get the equalizer and send it to overtime.  The coaches figure this may have just been our best game of the year, it goes to show you, you don't have to win to have a great game.  Keep up the great play and good things will happen for you players.
